For people in their own home, in Queensland, it is legal to:
Install or maintain an irrigation or lawn watering system downstream from an isolating valve, tap or backflow prevention device on the supply pipe for the irrigation or lawn watering system.
Replace a jumper valve or washer in a tap.
Change a showerhead.
Replace, in a water closet cistern, a drop valve washer, float valve washer or suction cup rubber.
Please note that you can change a tap washer yourself, but it is illegal to change tap bodies.
